Access care virtually
Telehealth and telemedicine are convenient ways to get care virtually. But what are they and what's the difference? Here's the breakdown.
Telemedicine
This refers to the specific services available through Teladoc* Health, our telemedicine platform, with designated providers. The services available through telemedicine are general medical visits, mental/ behavioral visits, and dermatology consultations.
All Teladoc appointments have a $0 copay. Visits are available in several languages through an interpreter, including American Sign Language. Signing up for Teladoc is simple. Just visit teladochealth.com/signin to create your account and get started.
Telehealth
Whether your doctor’s office is far away from you or the times are not ideal, there are a lot of reasons why it may be difficult for you to get to your appointments.
Telehealth refers to virtual versions of in-person appointments with network providers, often with the same providers you’d go to in person, including PCPs and specialists. Telehealth appointments have the same copays as equivalent in-person appointments.
Not all services can be provided as a telehealth visit. Please see your Evidence of Coverage for more information on covered telehealth services. You can ask your provider for instructions on how to access their telehealth services, as well as for info about any technology requirements they may have.
